Checking Things Out

UNM-Los Alamos students, faculty, and staff

• Use your Lobo ID card

Community members

• Open to all New Mexico citizens, 18+ years old
• Show New Mexico photo ID
• Fill out borrower's card

• Books: 1 month
• Computer mouse: 4 hours/in-library use only
• Laptops and Ipads: 4 hours/in-library use only
• Sound recordings: 4 hours/in-library use only
• Current issues of magazines: In-library use only
• Back issues of magazines: 1 week
• DVD's & Videos: 1 week
• Newspapers: In-library use only
• Reference materials: In-library use only
• Special collection materials: 2 weeks or In-library use only

• You may renew in person, by telephone (505-662-0343), or by email.
• You may renew an item up to three times.
• After the third renewal, you must bring items into the library for additional renewals.

You may return materials to either the Help Desk or the book drop located in the breezeway on the west side of Building 1.

You may return the following items ONLY to the Help Desk in the Library:

• Interlibrary loans
• Materials checked out from UNM Libraries in Albuquerque

• Loan periods include Library Use Only, 2-day checkout, and 1 week checkout.
• You may start checking out materials, 24 hours after your instructor has placed them on reserve.
• Fines are $2.00 per item per day for overdue reserve materials.
