APA (American Psychological Association) style is one of several citation styles used by various professions and academic institutions, including some courses at UNM-Los Alamos. Below are patterns and actual examples for citing common information formats.

The patterns and examples are based on the APA Formatting and Style Guide, 7th
edition, as presented in the Purdue OWL website. For more detailed information on citing
these formats as well as other formats not included here, please consult the Purdue OWL
website.

Pay close attention to punctuation and capitalization as shown in the patterns and
examples below. 


Book (Print)

Pattern:

Lastname, A. A. (Publication date). Title of book. Publisher

Example:
