Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent enrollment allows eligible high school students (public, private, or homeschool) to enroll in college-level courses through UNM-Los Alamos and earn college credit. Concurrent Enrollment students are responsible for all course costs including tuition, fees and books.

All courses offered at UNM-LA are eligible for concurrent enrollment.

How to register
Follow these easy steps:
Prior to the start of a college semester, visit your high school or homeschool counselor to look at the current UNM-LA semester schedule.
Determine the UNM-LA courses that would fit into your schedule and discuss your eligibility for concurrent enrollment.
Note: students may take courses in the fall, spring, and/or summer semester.
At the start of the semester, get a copy of the concurrent enrollment application (the same application is used for both dual credit and concurrent enrollment) from the UNM-Los Alamos web site, your high school counselor, or a UNM-LA Advisor in Building 1 at UNM-LA.
Complete the application.
Note: you will need signatures from your parents and possibly from your high school counselor and principal.
Submit your high school/homeschool transcript with the application.
Return the completed application to the Registrar’s office in Building 1 at UNM-Los Alamos.
Costs:
All costs are covered by the student. This includes tuition costs, books costs, and all course-specific fees.
Books:
The student purchases textbooks for concurrent enrollment courses. Visit UNM's online bookstore for more information.
You will be awarded UNM college credit at the end of the semester in which you took the course.
Students wishing to make changes to enrollment must follow UNM rules and deadlines. Contact the Registrar for more information on how to drop a class.
