Phi Theta Kappa

Welcome to the UNM Los Alamos Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa!

What is PTK?

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an international honor society of the two-year college that recognizes and encourages scholarship among associate degree students. It provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate to exchange ideas and ideals, for scholarly fellowship, and for stimulation of continuing academic excellence. The UNM Los Alamos Chapter of Beta Zeta Chi was chartered with twenty-two founding members in December of 1997.

Who Can Join?

Students with twelve credits completed in an associate degree program and whose cumulative grade point average is at least a 3.50 are extended an invitation to membership. Others who are interested in becoming members are encouraged to contact the society's chapter advisors or officers for information. Active members are eligible to apply for Phi Theta Kappa scholarships at other in-state and out-of-state, four-year institutions.

When Do We Meet?

Phi Theta Kappa holds weekly meetings at different times. All students are welcome to attend.
