General Studies

The department of General Studies is an interdisciplinary unit offering a variety of opportunities to help you achieve your professional goals. We offer classes in American Studies, Anthropology, Classics, History, Native American Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and more.

Most general education courses will articulate to four-year college programs, and several of these classes count towards UNM Core Curriculum requirements in the Humanities or Social Sciences.
