Faculty Assembly
The UNM-LA Faculty Assembly consists of:
- All current faculty members appointed by the branch to teach credit-bearing courses
- Faculty members similarly appointed in either of the two previous years who notify the Secretary by the second Assembly meeting of their wish to belong
- The Director of the Learning Resource Center/Library
Faculty Assembly officers are elected every Fall. The Faculty Assembly Operations Committee represents the interests of the faculty and consists of the elected officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, three additional Operations Committee members, and UNM-LA's representative to the UNM main campus Faculty Senate.
The Operations Committee generally meets once per month during the academic year. Faculty Assembly meetings on various topics of interest are generally scheduled monthly, and faculty members are encouraged to attend.
Further details about UNM-LA Faculty governance can be found in the UNM-LA Faculty Assembly Constitution, which can be found on page 12 of the UNM-LA Faculty Handbook.
