Student: Office Assistant

The Office Assistant in Student Services serves as a primary contact for busy front desk services.  This will require that the successful candidate provide excellent customer service and maintain
confidentiality of records and information. 

Duties include: Answer front desk telephone, route calls, take messages, and provide general information to customers.  Schedule and maintain student appointments. Establish, maintain, process, and/or update file documents for scanning and archiving.   Perform a variety of data entry assignments and understand the organization of data in order to provide basic information.  Operate personal computer to draft correspondence, print and mail letters, reports, or other materials as requested.  Open and route incoming mail; distribute correspondence and other material to department staff.  Perform other duties as assigned. Student: IT Support Staff

The person in this position will under limited supervision, advise and instruct computer users involving complex duties an use of network resources.  This person serves as  a consultant for programming problems of moderate difficulty. May be responsible for microcomputer lab ( is responsible at various times during the day). May develop training materials. Required background includes knowledge of a major computer packages ( word processors, spreadsheets, databases, presentation, web development, ) and /or  languages ( C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Scheme...).  View the position on the UNM job site.

Staff: On-call Instructional Aide for EMT Basic

On-call Instructional Aide for EMT Basic. Under direct supervision, provides routine on-call assistance to one or more qualified instructors in the day-to-day performance of classroom and associated activities.
The person in this position:
1.      Under detailed instruction from the instructor, assists in facilitating classroom activities carried out by students.
2.      Sets up and monitors usage of classroom equipment and supplies; ensures that equipment and supplies are returned to storage after use.
3.      Presents subject matter , under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of methods including stories, discussions, and role playing
4.      Communicates with, assists, and answers questions from students as required on routine day-to-day classroom issues.
5.      Practices appropriate safety and injury prevention methods and procedures.
