Children’s College—Entering Grades 1–3

Adventures at The University

Join us to explore various STEAM topics, using hands-on, discovery learning. Students rotate through a different workshop each day. The five halfday
program will include topics such as chemistry, music, printmaking, and more! Bring a snack. Some activities will take place outside.

Minecraft: Building with Redstone

Learn about common Redstone circuits and use them in cool projects to solve problems. This class encourages teamwork and develops a variety of skills, including design, logic, problem-solving, and more.

Chemistry in The Kitchen

Are you curious about the chemistry that happens in a kitchen with food? We will explore science with candy chromatography, cabbage juice indicator, and how to make ice cream as well as other fun experiments.

Robotics

Use Lego MindStorm kits to build and use robots. Learn to work in teams and develop programming skills while creating amazing robots.

Teen College—Entering Grades 7–10

Engineering

Learn to design, construct, test, and evaluate models. Explore the steps involved in design, and experiment with the different sequences used to create design.

Learn to create and modify games. In this fun and exciting class, students will work with RPG Maker MV to learn programming concepts and game design.

Comics: Telling Stories with Sequential Art

What makes comics so compelling to read? What words-and-pictures language does a comic use to tell its story? Through short exercises, group discussions, and technical exploration, we’ll uncover the concepts underlying the comics medium. And, of course, we’ll make some comics!

Incredible Universe

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what exactly is out there? Do you want to know what a black hole is and if it really exists? Have you always been curious about what dark matter and dark energy really are, or thought about the possibility of life on other planets? In this class, students will engage in a variety of hands-on activities, to learn about a wide range of topics in modern astrophysics.

Optical Illusions

Have you ever seen a clever optical illusion and wondered how it was created? Learn how to create a multitude of optical illusions. It’s easier than you think to trick the eye on a piece of paper. It is a fun way to experiment with shapes and colors with four basic art tools: paper, graphite pencils, sharpies and colored pencils.

Singing for Teens

Anyone can learn to sing if they have the inclination! Learn the basics of healthy vocal production, breathing techniques and posture, and performance practices for solo and group singing. Develop confidence, get comfortable singing in front of a group, and do some exercises to help conquer performance anxiety.
